A plain English look at the information we collect when you use sonashi.ae, what we do with it, and the rights you always have over your personal data.
Updated April 2026
Your trust is the only reason we get to exist as a brand. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can stay in control of your personal information at every step.
01
About this policy
This privacy policy explains how Joint Ven Trading Co. LLC, the company that runs the SONASHI brand and operates sonashi.ae, handles the personal information you share with us. It covers everything that happens on our website, inside your customer account, in our email messages, and during any conversation you have with our customer care team.
We have written this page to be honest and easy to follow. If something feels unclear after you read it, please email the team and we will explain it in more detail.
02
Information we collect
We only ask for the information we actually need in order to serve you. The data we collect falls into a few clear groups:
Information you give us directly
Your full name, email address, mobile number, and shipping address when you place an order or create an account.
Your billing address and the details required to process a card payment, although the full card number itself is handled by our payment provider, not by us.
The product you are asking about, the question you are raising, and any attachments you share when you contact customer care or submit a support ticket.
Reviews, comments, and other content you choose to post on product pages or through social login.
Preferences such as the language you prefer, the region you shop from, and whether you want to receive marketing emails.
Information we collect automatically
Standard web server data such as your device type, operating system, browser, IP address, and the pages you visit on sonashi.ae.
Cookies and similar technologies that help the cart remember your items, keep you signed in, and measure how our pages perform.
Approximate location derived from your IP address, so we can show you the right region, currency, and delivery options.
Information we receive from others
Basic profile data from a social login provider when you choose to sign in using Google, Apple, or a similar service.
Delivery status updates from couriers so we can show your tracking page.
Fraud and identity signals from our payment partners so we can spot and stop suspicious orders.
03
How we use your information
We use your data to run the store, fulfil your orders, and make the shopping experience better. The main purposes are:
Taking payment for your orders, preparing them in the warehouse, and arranging delivery to the address you provided.
Keeping your customer account up to date with your order history, saved addresses, and warranty records.
Answering your questions on time, resolving complaints, and following up on warranty or repair requests.
Sending you important transactional messages such as order confirmations, delivery updates, and receipts.
Sending you marketing emails about new products, sales, and offers, but only if you have asked us to, and you can unsubscribe at any time with one click.
Understanding which parts of the website are popular, which products people love, and where we need to improve the experience.
Protecting the store from fraud, hacking attempts, and other activity that would hurt our customers or our team.
Meeting our legal obligations under UAE law, including tax, accounting, and consumer protection rules.
04
Why we are allowed to use your information
Depending on the situation, we rely on one of a few legal grounds to handle your data. We use your information because you have agreed to it, because we need it to complete the order you asked for, because we have a legitimate business reason that does not override your privacy, or because the law requires us to keep certain records. You can always ask us which of these applies to a particular use of your data.
05
Cookies and tracking technologies
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to remember you between visits. We use a handful of these files to make sonashi.ae work properly and to improve it over time. Some cookies are strictly necessary, for example the ones that keep your shopping cart alive and let you stay signed in. Others are used for analytics and marketing so we can understand what people like and show you more of it.
If you do not want optional cookies to be set, you can change your preferences in our cookie banner or in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may cause parts of the store to stop working as expected, so please keep that in mind.
06
Who we share your information with
We never sell your personal data. We only share it with partners who help us run the business, and only for the purposes set out below.
Payment processors such as Stripe, PayTabs, Tabby, and Tamara, who handle the secure part of the card payment and the buy now pay later offers shown at checkout.
Courier companies and logistics partners, who receive the name, address, and phone number they need to deliver your parcel.
Authorised SONASHI service centers, who receive the details needed to carry out a warranty repair for you.
IT, hosting, and analytics providers who run the technical infrastructure behind the store, always under a contract that protects your privacy.
Government authorities, regulators, and law enforcement, when we are required by UAE law or by a lawful court order to share information.
Professional advisers such as lawyers and auditors, when we need their help with a specific legal or financial matter.
In the unlikely event that SONASHI or Joint Ven Trading Co. LLC goes through a merger, sale, or reorganisation, your data may be transferred to the new owner together with the business. If that happens, we will make sure the new owner agrees to respect this policy in the same way we do today.
07
International data transfers
SONASHI operates from Dubai, and we try to keep as much of your data as possible inside the United Arab Emirates. Some of our trusted service providers host their platforms in other countries, so your information may travel outside the UAE when it is being processed by them. When that happens, we only work with providers who offer a strong level of protection and who agree to handle the data in line with this policy.
08
How long we keep your data
We only hold on to your information for as long as we actually need it. Order records, invoices, and tax documents are kept for the number of years required by UAE law. Your customer account stays active until you decide to close it, or until we notice that it has been inactive for a very long time and we choose to archive it. Support tickets and warranty cases are kept long enough to help if you come back later with a follow up question.
When we no longer need a piece of information, we either delete it or turn it into anonymous data that can no longer be linked back to you.
09
Your rights over your data
You are the owner of your personal information, and we want it to be easy for you to stay in control. Subject to UAE privacy law, you have the right to:
Ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you.
Ask us to correct anything that looks wrong or out of date.
Ask us to delete your account and the data linked to it, where we are not required to keep it for legal reasons.
Ask us to stop or limit certain uses of your data, including marketing emails.
Withdraw your consent at any time for activities that rely on consent, without affecting anything that happened before you changed your mind.
Ask us for a machine readable copy of the data you gave us, so you can move it to another service.
To use any of these rights, send us an email with the subject line privacy request and we will reply within a reasonable time. We may ask you a few questions so we can confirm that you are the real owner of the account.
10
Your marketing choices
We only send marketing emails to people who sign up for them, and every single email we send includes a clear unsubscribe link at the bottom. If you ever change your mind, you can switch the emails off with one click. We will keep sending transactional messages such as order and delivery updates, since those are a part of the purchase you made.
11
Children and the store
The SONASHI online store is built for adults who can make their own shopping and payment decisions. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of eighteen. If you believe a child has used the store or shared information with us without a parent or guardian, please contact us and we will remove the data as quickly as possible.
12
How we protect your data
We take security seriously. The store runs on encrypted connections, passwords are stored in a hashed form that cannot be read back, and access to customer data is restricted to the team members who actually need it to do their job. Our payment partners hold the industry standard PCI DSS certification, which is the bar that card networks expect for handling payments.
No online service can promise perfect security, but we work hard to keep the risks low and we react quickly if anything unusual shows up. If a security incident ever puts your personal data at risk, we will let you know and explain what we are doing about it.
13
Links to other websites
You will sometimes see links on our store that take you to other websites, for example a courier tracking page, a payment provider, or a social media profile. Those sites are run by other companies and have their own privacy policies. This privacy policy only applies to sonashi.ae, so please take a quick look at the privacy policy of any site you jump to from here.
14
Updates to this policy
We may update this privacy policy as we add new features, sign new partners, or react to changes in UAE law. Every new version is posted on this page with a fresh update date at the top, and we recommend glancing at it from time to time so you always know what applies.
